This is a photograph of Winifred B. Shaw, the subject of a stunning photo album dated 1912. This was the first item I had purchased to make my art from years earlier. As she was so vital and lovely, so ALIVE in these pictures, she became a sort of guardian angel for me as my studio work progressed, but only at this point (five years in) did I feel ready to pay homage to this vibrant spirit from the forgotten past. This piece is warmly dedicated to Winifred.
