Neckpiece:
Two Sides of History.
2009
$3900
+ shipping/handling
The latest in my ongoing series of disarmed and radically reconfigured animal traps. Two Sides of History is notable for the fact that is the first of my pieces to prominently feature objects that have been altered and fused with glass.
The piece hangs in a singular way: the cord/s circles the neck quite closely, like a small chain might be worn; the pendant then dangles, pendulum-like, straight down from there to the belly. Because of the open structure, this neckpiece is not heavy like it appears and is quite comfortable to wear.
The creation of Two Sides of History has been chronicled
in detail on my blog here (part 1) and here (part two).
